The Ancient Greeks had a phenomenal influence on the colonization of Europe and the Global culture as we know it today. Many of the modern-day influences which have been developed over the centuries have had their root in the Ancient Greek civilizations. Beliefs, systems, lifestyle, art and even language have all been shaped by the Ancient Greeks in some way. One of the most influential of these civilizations was the Romans. The Ancient Roman civilization had many similarities and therefore shared many of the ideas and ideals of the Ancient Greeks. It was not just the Ancient Greeks but also other empires such as the Persians, Egyptians and Chinese which heavily influenced the Ancient Romans. One of the things that the Ancient Romans copied from the Ancient Greeks was their way of organising themselves. The Ancient Greeks had a well-structured and well-organised political system and the Ancient Romans adapted this political system for their own purposes. They also incorporated many of the beliefs and traditions from the Ancient Greeks. So why did the Ancient Romans copy the Ancient Greeks?

One of the main reasons why the Ancient Romans copied the Ancient Greeks was due to their admiration of the achievements of this civilization. The Ancient Romans believed that the culture, art and political systems of the Ancient Greeks were far more advanced than any other civilization and sought to imitate them in order to improve their own civilization. The Ancient Romans were also highly impressed by the achievements of the Ancient Greeks in terms of warfare. The Ancient Greeks were able to build a great number of powerful ships and make use of professional combat techniques, something that was relatively unheard of at the time. The Ancient Romans thus sought to replicate these feats in order to become stronger and more powerful.

Another reason why the Ancient Romans copied the Ancient Greeks was due to the need to expand their reach and influence. The Ancient Romans were one of the most powerful empires of the time, and they sought to expand their influence as far as possible. By copying the Ancient Greeks, the Ancient Romans were able to make sure that their ideas, beliefs and culture permeated further and faster. By combining their own ideas with that of the Ancient Greeks, the Ancient Romans were able to form an even more powerful empire.

The Ancient Roman culture was also heavily influenced by the religion of the Ancient Greeks. The Ancient Greeks were one of the first civilizations to develop a powerful belief system and set of religious practices. The Ancient Romans adapted these practices and incorporated them into their own culture. As a result, many of the symbols, gods and beliefs of the Ancient Greeks were adopted by the Ancient Romans.
