The first thing that comes to mind when I think of ancient Rome is the Colosseum. This huge amphitheater was used for public events such as gladiator fights, animal hunts, and dramas. I also think of the Roman Forum, which was the center of political life in Rome. Here, famous politicians such as Julius Caesar and Cicero gave speeches to the people. Lastly, I think of the Roman baths, which were huge public baths where people went to relax and socialize.<\/p>\n

There are a number of things that come to mind when I think of ancient Rome. Firstly, I think of the colosseum and the Roman empire’s fascination with gladiatorial combat. I also think of Roman architecture and engineering, such as the aqueducts, and of course the Roman roads. I also can’t help but think of some of the more infamous historical figures associated with Rome, such as Julius Caesar and Nero. Lastly, I think of the fall of the Roman empire and how that period of history has been romanticized in popular culture.<\/p>\n

What do you think life was like in ancient Rome? <\/h2>\n

Daily life in a Roman city was completely dependent on one’s economic status. The city, however, remained a mixture of wealth and poverty, often existing side by side. The wealthy had the benefit of slave labor whether it was heating the water at the baths, serving them their evening meal, or educating their children.<\/p>\n

Rome is a city with a long and rich history. It was founded by two brothers, Romulus and Remus, who were abandoned soon after their birth. They were discovered by a she-wolf on the banks of the Tiber, who took them in and fed them. Eventually the boys grew up to found a city. Rome has been a major center of power and influence for centuries, and its legacy can still be seen in the city today.<\/p>\n
