If you were to ask someone what they know about ancient Rome, they would probably tell you stories about Julius Caesar, the Roman Empire, or gladiators. And while all of those things are true, they only give you a small glimpse into what life was actually like back then. Let’s take a more in-depth look at a few aspects of daily life in Rome. <\/p>\n

For starters, the Roman empire was huge, spanning all the way from England to North Africa. And within that empire, there was a lot of social stratification. At the top were the emperor and his family, followed by the patricians, who were the wealthy landowners. Then came the plebeians, who made up the majority of the population. And at the bottom were slaves. <\/p>\n

The daily life of each group was quite different. The emperor, of course, lived in a palace with servants to attend to his every need. The patricians also had servants, but not nearly as many. The plebeians mostly had to fend for themselves, and the slaves, of course, had to do whatever their masters told them to. <\/p>\n

There was also a big difference in how men and women lived. Women were not allowed to hold<\/p>\n
