The peirs of Rome were used to moor ships and as a foundation for buildings. Rome’s peirs were made of stone, brick, and concrete and varied in size and shape. Some of the more notable peirs include the Ponte Cestio, the Ponte Aemilius, and the Ponte Fabricius.<\/p>\n
