There were a total of three known slave revolts in ancient Rome. The first occurred in 135 BC, led by the slaves ofGetulicus and Fannius. The second, which was the most famous and largest, was the revolt of Spartacus in 73-71 BC. The third and final one occurred in AD 70, when the slaves of Lucius Cornelius Sulla rebelled.<\/p>\n

There is no certain answer to this question as there is no comprehensive record of all slave revolts that took place in ancient Rome. However, some historians believe that there were around 200 recorded revolts, while others believe the number could be as high as 500.<\/p>\n

What were the slave revolts of Rome? <\/h2>\n

Spartacus’s rebellion was the most famous slave rebellion in ancient Rome, but it was not the only one. There were other large-scale rebellions on the island of Sicily. These rebellions highlighted the potential dangers of having a large population of slaves.<\/p>\n

The largest and most successful slave rebellion in American history was the one led by Nat Turner in 1831. Turner and his fellow rebels managed to kill between 55 and 65 white people before being captured and put to death.<\/p>\n
