The ancient Romans had very different ideas about beauty than we do today. For them, beauty was about power, wealth, and prestige. The most beautiful people were often the ones with the most money and the most influence.<\/p>\n

The physical appearance of someone was not the only thing ancient Romans took into account when it came to beauty; they also considered inner beauty, or a person’s character, to be important.<\/p>\n

What was the Roman ideal woman body? <\/h2>\n

Wealthy ancient Roman women had a long list of beauty ideals to check off: being slim but robust; high, round, youthful breasts; narrow shoulders; small waist; wide hips and thighs; long, hairless legs; rosy lips and cheeks.<\/p>\n

The ideal Roman was a tall, muscular man with long legs and a tan complexion. He was believed to be immoral if he used makeup to whiten his face. The ideal face was high and broad, with a strong nose, symmetrical features, and a powerful jaw.<\/p>\n

What was the beauty standard in ancient times <\/h3>\n
